My philosophy and approach to helping

My general philosophy is acknowledging that each individual person is unique and with that uniqueness prompts a person-centered plan in therapeutic care. I believe in creating comfort and building therapeutic rapport in order to be successful. I consider my approach to be more skill-focused and adaptable.

Anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, stress, life transitions, relationship difficulties and men’s issues.

THERAPEUTIC APPROACHES

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Seeking Safety, Attachment Theory, Mindfulness, Hypnotherapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Bereavement Counseling and Cognitive Processing Therapy.

I am Level 1 trained in Clinical Hypnosis through the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. I am also Internal Family Systems informed and will begin my certification in 2024.

Tell us more about your professional background

I went to UNC Greensboro for my undergraduate degree in psychology. I took a gap year to live abroad and figure out my next direction. My experience doing community service work in South Africa, followed by working with Syrian refugees in Atlanta, I was able to learn that social work was my next step. I completed my master’s degree in social work at UNC Charlotte. I have worked in a community-based recovery center specializing in both outpatient and intensive outpatient, a combat clinic, the emergency department and now private practice.

What are your fees for service? Do you take insurance?

I am currently paneled with BCBS, Aetna, MedCost and United Healthcare. Some insurance companies will partially reimburse for out of network providers, I can provider a superbill for any client who would like to self submit.

  • $200 for intake session

  • $150 for each session following.
